DriveReady (“we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes a suite of provincial driver knowledge test practice apps and this companion website. This page explains what information is — and isn’t — collected when you use our apps or visit drivereadycanada.ca.

🔒

The short version: DriveReady apps do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no names, no email addresses, and no location data leaves your device (unless you choose to share or export a PDF of your results). Everything you do inside a DriveReady app — your scores, your progress, your streak — stays on your own device.

Information Collected by Our Apps

None. DriveReady apps do not require or request an account. They do not collect your name, email address, contacts, or device identifiers. Test scores, streaks, and progress data are saved using your device’s local storage only, and are never transmitted to us or to any third party. If you delete the app, that data is permanently deleted along with it.

Optional location data: DriveReady includes a Supervised Drive feature in all provinces that can optionally use your device’s GPS to record speed and distance during a practice drive. If you use this feature, location data is processed and stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us or any third party. Using GPS for this feature is entirely optional — the app works fully without it. Location permission is controlled through your device’s own settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services; Android: Settings → Location). Enabling location permission grants it only to the app on your device; no location data is ever sent outside it. If you use the Share Results or Export PDF option within the Supervised Drive feature, the summary data you choose to share (distance, time, speed) leaves your device only as part of that action, only to the destination you select, and only at your explicit direction.

In-App Purchases

Unlocking full access within a DriveReady app is handled entirely by the platform through which you downloaded it — Google Play for Android, or the App Store for iOS. We do not see or store your payment details, card number, or billing address. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was completed, so we cannot process refunds directly. Refund requests must go through your platform: Google Play’s refund process or Apple’s refund process.

This Website (drivereadycanada.ca)

This website does not require an account and does not run advertising. We do use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand overall website traffic and search performance — for example, which pages are visited and which search terms bring visitors to the site. These tools use cookies and collect aggregate, non-identifying information about visits; they do not collect your name, email address, or other information that identifies you personally. This is separate from, and unrelated to, our apps, which — as described above — collect no data of any kind. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through the cookie preferences banner on this site, and you can learn more about how Google handles this data in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Your web browser may also exchange basic technical information with our hosting provider as a normal part of loading any web page (such as your general browser type, for compatibility purposes) — this is standard web server behaviour, not something we actively collect or review beyond the analytics described above.

Children’s Privacy

DriveReady apps are educational tools intended for learner drivers, most commonly teens and adults. Because we do not collect any personal data from any user regardless of age, there is no personal data collected from children either. If you have questions about a younger family member’s use of the app, please contact us below.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Since we don’t collect contact information from users, we’re not able to notify you directly of changes — we encourage you to check back periodically.
